Nelson Machule Maqhwazima
CHAIRMAN
Nelson Maqhwazima holds a national Diploma in Business Management, Financial Management and in Marketing.
He brings on board his vast experience obtained in leading companies such as Afriway group of companies, a property development firm.
Nelson joined Bunono Engineers Africa as a founding member in 2003.
His expertise lies in Project Management, Business Development, Strategy Planning and Marketing.

Phakamisa Saviour Yazini
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Phakamisa has an extensive administration background obtained from his days at the Dept of Justice and various training programmes in Sales & Marketing, and Administration of Estates that he underwent while working as a Financial Advisor at Old Mutual.
In 1996 he moved to Africa VDZ as a Property Developer, where he acquired numerous skills in terms of managing multi-million rand property development projects.
He became the Executive Director of Fresh Food Catering in 2000, where he provided catering to schools and hospitals, for the Dept of Education and Health.
Mr Yazini became a Managing Director of Edge to Edge Company, a black-owned construction company, with various contracts awarded by the Amathole District Municipality for access roads.
He was a shareholder of Ses'fikile Civils, and was appointed Projects Director for contracts in excess of 8 Million ZAR.
He joined Bunono Engineers Africa in 2005 as an Executive Marketing Member with full responsibilities for the company's marketing strategies and black-empowerment initiatives. He brought along a wealth of networking, administration, marketing, and construction experience.

James Rodze
DIRECTOR
James qualified as an Engineer in 1984, and he joined Cresswell Bull & Associates where he was involved in the design of bridges, reinforced concrete, steelwork, timber and masonry structures.
James then moved to Ove Arup & Partners as a Graduate Engineer in 1985, where he rose through the ranks to Project Engineer in 1987, becoming an Associate Partner in 1990.
He was involved in the Structural Design, Co-ordination, Liaison, Documentation and Supervision of various projects.
The projects he has worked on include Multi-Storey Buildings, Industrial, Commercial, Institutional and Residential Buildings, and Building Refurbishments. He has broad experience in Reinforced Concrete, Steelwork, Timber and Masonry Construction, including Multi Level Basement design.
He formed SSCT Consulting Engineers in 1996 with three other directors, and was Director in the Structural Engineering department in charge of multi-storey, commercial, institutional and residential buildings, developments and refurbishments, specialist timber and masonry design.
He then worked as a sole Consulting Engineering under JR Design Partnership, in the construction, supervision and structural works coordination with services and tenants of the Joina Centre Project as a Project Structural Engineer.
James is currently working as Technical Director for Bunono Engineers Africa, at the head office in East London, which he joined in April 2006. He is involved in running the office's structural division and is working on several Municipal, Public Structural Works and Schools Building Projects and is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.

Vusumzi Msweli
DIRECTOR
Vusumzi has been involved in the Engineering field for over 30 years. He obtained his Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering with Witwaterstrand Technikon and started working as a Trainee Technician at Henry & Asscoiates Inc. in 1981 (now merged with Stewart Scott), a position he held until 1987.
He then worked at Steyn Inc. as a Civil Engineering Technician from 1987 - 1991. At Steyn Inc. he was involved in various projects such as the upgrading of the N2 from Colchester to Komgha, Secunda Overland Conveyor Route and various other Toll Roads.
He then worked as a Project Manager at DLM Consulting Engineering Inc. from 1990 until 1996, and became a Director in 1998. From 1998 - 2001 he worked for EPA Engineering & Projects as a Technical Coordinator where he managed six production centres in three provinces; Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and KwaZulu Natal.
In 2002 he served in the Intergrated Sustainable Rural Development Programme (ISRDP) as a Technical Manager for the Dept of Provincial & Local Government.
His invaluable experience in Engineering got him to Rand Water where he served as a Pipeline Protection Manager.
At Rand Water he was involved with the Gautrain and had to see to it that Rand Water's pipelines are protected and deviated accordingly.
Vusumzi's competencies include contract management, design, construction supervision, quality control in the field of water, sanitation services, civil and building works.
He is also studying towards converting his Postgraduate Diploma (GDE) to M. Eng or MSc (Eng), specialising in water and is registered with the Engineering Councilof South Africa as a Professional Engineering Technologist.
